Special presentation of SAMBASO after its New York presentation at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum

This return performance follows the presentation of SAMBASO, divine dance – Mansai Nomura+ Hiroshi Sugimoto at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York held on March 28 and 29, 2013. In New York, Hiroshi Sugimoto restructured one of the oldest celebratory rituals, SAMBASO, to fit in the vast space of the Guggenheim Museum, a symbol of modern art and architecture. This collaboration between traditional and modern art transcends time and genre, allowing the viewer to appreciate the performance in a new way. The presentation in Japan will transform Sakura Hall in Shibuya into a divine space for the dance. We invite you to come and witness this breathtaking presentation of “new traditional” Japanese art.
